Online Job Search Resources lists some websites we have found valuable for learning about career fields.

The United States government maintains several websites which provide helpful information to jobseekers and others who want to investigate career fields:

    • O*NET OnLine was conceived by the U.S. Department of Labor to be the definitive resource for counselors, educators, human resource specialists, and the general public to learn more about occupations.
    • The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a very useful guide, produced by the U.S. Department of Labor, with basic information about the most common career fields, job trends, educational requirements and more.
    • America's Labor Market Information System, CareerOneStop, is a collection of sites that help people find jobs and learn about careers. It includes America's Job Bank and Career InfoNet.
